1. Why won't the video's play?
These are MPEG files you will need an mpeg player to
view video's. You can download the Windows© Media Player® , links included on the CD. Connect to the internet click on the
link and follow the instructions. Be sure to read which version is available for your
operating system.
2. Why are the videos so dark?
Try adjusting your monitor
settings to full brightness and adjust contrast accordingly.
3. Why does it take so long to view a video?
These are compressed files, but they are still quite
large. From 5 to 13 Megabytes.
The speed of your computer will affect the load time, a 120 MHz. Pentium processor
with 32 megabytes of ram is the recommended minimum.
Once you have viewed a video and want to view another, keep the video player open and
bring your browser forward, select the next video and click,
this will save a bit of time because the player program will not have to open again.
4. I get this message box when trying to view
movies with Netscape 6.0
what should I do?

Select the Open using button and click OK
Or Try Internet Explorer.
1. Nothing loads when I select a panorama:
Java and JavaScript must be enabled in your browser to view these panoramas.
I recently downloaded the Netscape 6.0 (free version). The panorama's would not play until
I downloaded a rather large plug-in for Java, even then I'm having problems. I can only
assume that the free download is a (lite) version that does not include the usual
plug-ins. I have never before had to download any Java enabling plug-ins
for any
browser. We worked very hard to make the 360° Maui CD usable on almost any machine without
having to download anything! I think I will go back to version 4.7.
There are some other issues with Netscape 6.0. The flash map does not pre-load the images
very well, making it difficult to use.
We recommend using Internet Explorer.
2. I am receiving an error message:
If you are receiving an error message such as...
"Not enough memory". Or "Out of bounds exceptions".. try these smaller panoramas.
3. The Panoramas freeze:
It may be necessary to hit reload or refresh on your browser if the panorama doesn't load
or freezes.
4. How do I spin the panoramas?
Place cursor over the panorama, click with the left mouse button and drag left or right,
or use your arrow keys on your keyboard.
In some instances you may be able to drag up or down.
To Zoom in, click 'shift' on your keyboard, then click the left mouse
button. To stop zooming click again. To Zoom out, click
'ctrl', then click left mouse button, click again to stop zoom..
5. Why doesn't the panorama fit in my window?
Set your browser to full screen setting. or try these
smaller panoramas.
Each browser has an option to close the toolbars at the top of the browser, i.e.
Netscape has three, personal toolbar, location toolbar and navigation
toolbar. these can all be minimized giving you a much larger viewing space.
Internet Explorer has numerous toolbars. go to view toolbars and click on
the checked toolbars and they will retract. Close any windows to the left of the browser
i.e. search, favorites etc.
1. The photo's are too dark to view:

screen?

picture or page you wish to print, and go to 'file' in your browser and select 'print
frame' (Netscape). (Under Copyright this information is to be used for personal use only,

1. Is there sound on the CD?
Yes...
We tested music background sounds and got very mixed reviews. Some found the music
distracting. Also some browser's do not recognize certain sound files, thus limiting the
cross platform content of this product.
But for Internet Explorer Users, you will hear an odd mix of lapping
waves and Japanese Doves, Finches and Mynah Birds.
I found it a rather interesting sensation when viewing the Haleakala Panorama's to hear
waves and birds.
To open this CD in Internet Explorer...
Double click on the Browser icon, - at the very top of the browser go to file / open and
type in (or copy and paste this line)
D:/start.html
Replace D:/ with your appropriate drive letter.
This sound file may slow down older machines.
